I have over a decade of teaching experience working with youth, college, and continuing education. I’ve taught in Portland in PPS, T the now-defunct Oregon College of Art and Craft, at the Pacific Northwest College of Art, and numerous workshops for libraries, schools, and online organizations. I’ve switched gears to just focus on making books, but still get the teaching bug every now and then. I’ve been running classes and workshops online via Zoom the last few years.

All classes will be via Zoom and are pay-what-you-can with a recommended donation listed for each class.

Below are the current class offerings. The registration is at the bottom of the page!

Clip Studio Paint has been rapidly becoming the preferred software for creating digital work by many professional cartoonists and illustrators. With it’s affordability, incredibly robust brush engine, and many tools specifically designed with making comics in mind, it’s a wonderful alternative to Adobe. This class will teach students the basics from managing subtools to mastering the perspective ruler. We will be covering both the desktop and iPad versions of the program.

Classes will be via Zoom. They’ll also be recorded and available for folks for up to a year.
